Newcastle Rider Training was established way back in June 1991. Originally based in Heaton and then Wallsend, we quickly earned a reputation for excellence throughout the North East. For the last eleven years we have been operating from our purpose-built premises at the Old Glassworks in Lemington. Here we conduct lessons in our own comfortable classroom and on our exclusive, on-site tarmac training ground for your safe training.
All of the instructors at Newcastle Rider Training are skilled, enthusiastic, patient and fully qualified. They are keen to pass on their many years and thousands of miles of motorcycling experience, so that you too can enjoy the unique feeling of freedom that comes with riding a motorbike.
Neil set up Newcastle Rider Training in June 1991. Apart from running the business for the last 27 years, he has been busy teaching everyone from beginners to experienced riders. He is qualified as a RoSPA Diploma advanced motorcycling instructor and does all of our advanced training.
He has been riding motorcycles almost every day for 42 years now, and has a wealth of experience to pass on to you. He hasn’t forgotten where it all started though, and still loves commuting along the riverside on his bicycle six days a week.
John has been with us since 1995. Yes, that’s over 23 years of very valuable experience teaching customers of all shapes and sizes, all needs and abilities, week in, week out. John certainly knows his stuff!
In October 2016 he went into semi-retirement though and now just does a couple of days a week for us, so you may be lucky enough to catch him on an on day!
Quite a few of our repeat CBT customers recognize Kev from the days when used to run Bewick Motorcycle Training in Prudhoe. For the past ten years though he has been instructing for us full time, getting hundreds of happy customers through their CBTs and tests.
Apart from loving his road bikes Kev spends many a weekend competing in trials events.
Ian joined us in 2001 for weekend CBT work and is still loving it. If you do CBT on a Sunday it will probably be Ian who teaches you. He bought this Fireblade brand new, fourteen years ago and still keeps it in immaculate condition despite taking it out in all weathers.
When he isn’t riding his bike you’ll probably find Ian on a golf course.
Ian is one of thousands of satisfied ex-customers. Having passed his test with us 18 years ago, he has now been instructing here for 15 years. He conducts CBT on most Saturdays.
Apart from motorcycling, Ian’s other passions are computers and American football. He is a keen game player at the former and referee at the latter. Somehow he also finds time to volunteer for the RNLI on the Sunderland lifeboat.
Dan’s not keen on having his name and photo published on the internet (and who can blame him?) so you’ll have to come and see for yourselves who this man of mystery is. You won’t have to come very close to hear him though – he has a very commanding voice!
Dan joined us last year and does most our weekday CBT instructing (plus the odd weekend). He has proved a big hit with the customers, earning us some very favourable reviews on Google.
