Newcastle Rider Training was established way back in June 1991. Originally based in Heaton and then Wallsend, we quickly earned a reputation for excellence throughout the North East. For the last thirteen years we have been operating from our purpose-built premises at the Old Glassworks in Lemington. Here we conduct lessons in our own comfortable classroom and on our exclusive, on-site tarmac training ground for your safe learning.
All of the instructors at Newcastle Rider Training are skilled, enthusiastic, patient and fully qualified. They are keen to pass on their many years and thousands of miles of motorcycling experience, so that you too can enjoy the unique feeling of freedom that comes with riding a motorbike.
Neil set up Newcastle Rider Training in June 1991. Apart from running the business for the last 29 years, he has been busy teaching everyone from beginners to experienced riders. He is qualified as a RoSPA Diploma advanced motorcycling instructor and does all of our advanced training.
He has been riding motorcycles almost every day for the last 43 years, and has a wealth of experience to pass on to you. He hasn’t forgotten where it all started though, and still loves commuting along the riverside on his bicycle six days a week.
John has been with us since 1995. Yes, that’s over 25 years of very valuable experience teaching customers of all shapes and sizes, all needs and abilities, week in, week out. John certainly knows his stuff!
In October 2016 he went into semi-retirement though and now just does a couple of days a week for us, so you may be lucky enough to catch him on an on day!
Quite a few of our repeat CBT customers recognize Kev from the days when used to run Bewick Motorcycle Training in Prudhoe. For the past eleven years though he has been instructing for us full time, getting hundreds of happy customers through their CBTs and tests.
Apart from loving his road bikes Kev spends many a weekend competing in trials events.
Here’s a hastily taken photo of James in action. I’ll get a better one of him with a bike sometime soon.
James has been riding bikes since he was a kid on his parents’ farm. He passed his test with us ten years ago, started instructing elsewhere and then came to work for us in June. Since then he has been flat out doing CBTs for us seven days a week (lockdowns permitting) and getting us great reviews on Google and Facebook.
